Folks in Town

So, if it hasn’t been obvious enough to figure out just yet - I’m brown (Indian/Gujarati). Now, I don’t really know the stories or experiences of other Indians that are born in America, but I have often teetered on the edge of acceptance and resentment of the Indian community. The thing is, I […]

A HUGE Relief

So, the sister of a friend of mine had gone missing about two weeks ago.  She literally just got up and left.  This morning, she was found - alive and ok.  Thank God.  That’s the best news I’ve heard all week.  My goodness, Thank God.

The (Birthday) Weekend That Was

Why is it that when you so badly DO NOT want to be the center of attention, people insist on making you just that? My birthday is next week (December 30th), but since my sister’s wedding is taking place on that day and since the entire week is going to be crazy bananas, my friends […]

Bittersweet Mediocrity

So, my brother, after vowing to me that he knew his shit (Geometry) took his final exam yesterday and made a 58 out of 100 on it. I’m not so mad as I am dissapointed. I went over there to tutor him and he assured me after about an hour of tutoring, that […]

Year in Review

So, once again, another year is oh so very close to coming to an end. Where did the year go? Did it really go by that fast? Seems like when I was younger, time went by a tad bit slower, but now that I’ve become older, It’s like weeks turn into months and months into […]

Planning a Wedding is a BIATCH!

Man, oh man, planning a wedding is a biatch! I’m not even fully planning one and I feel the pain. I’m just helping my sister put the finishing touches on her wedding and I’m starting to observe how discombobulated and stressed out one can become when planning the biggest event of their life. I can’t […]

For Whom the Taco Bell Tolls

I, like an overwhelming majority of brown folks in the good ol’ U S of A, love Taco Bell. But, I’ll get back to my culinary infatuation a little bit later… I went with the ‘rents and my brother this morning to help my little brother pick out a shirt and a tie to go […]
